Our desire to be keenly perceptive is often separate from our desire to just rest, and I tried to relate them in Dog and Tire. The dog is alert, questioning, and the tire is inert, with even a touch of complacency--yet these two very different instances of reality are made akin through being in the same light, against a unifying background of sand.
